From an early age, Kote Carvajal became interested in drawing, cartoon series and comic. Just after finishing high school, where he got a degree in Computer Programming, he could participate into what he is really passionate about : Comics. From 2002 to date, he has been related in various Chilean comic book projects, many of them published by indie publishers.

Since 2008, he has devoted himself exclusively to color comic books. His first professional color work was for Caleuche Comic, Issues No. 23 and No. 24.Then, after working on a couple of numbers for a former U.S. independent publisher (Pirate Ninja Studios), Kóte continued to color several projects, which include the unpublished “Hermanos Segellin” (Segellin Brothers) and “Samba!” in Chile and the U.S. respectively.
In 2010, he started working for IDW Publishing with ‘Phoenix Without Ashes’ miniseries written by Harlan Ellison and drawned by Alan Robinson, talented Chilean Comic Artist. In parallel with this color job, Kóte became part of Cabralesa’s webcomic team, project that was published as a Comic book at the end of 2011.
In addition to Cabralesa, Kóte colored Argonauts #4 of TJ Comics (USA) and participated in Monster Hunting #2, another title from the same publishing house. He also colaborated in a innovative Godzilla’s campaign organized by IDW, where he was in charge of painting 11 exclusive covers designed for Comic book Stores.
For 2012, he is already participating in ‘Team Up Infestation 2′, the saga that includes characters of IDW Publishing, facing together an invasion of Lovecraftian monsters. Kóte is also working in various illustrations for Beyond Reality Media, a promising New Zealander publishing house.
As a way to contribute to Chilean comic area, Kóte produces and organizes the Illustration and Entrepreneurship Meeting since 2008. And from 2009, he is co-founder of the Chilean Association of Illustration and Graphic Narrative, aimed to professionalize Chileans comic artist for an international career.
